3rd February 2025

Today is a normal work from home for Harry and Tina, so that means the tourists need to leave and be tourists.

Stuart and I left our Hotel and walked the monumental 5 mins back to Redchurch st

Gathered James and headed to the Vintage Cafe just off brick lane, for some breakfast.
Highly recommended by Harry as a great cafe with the best full English Breakfast and no hipsters.

After breakfast we retraced our steps from  our New Year’s Eve walk.
The Gherkin, the inside out building, Leadenhall Market and ended up back down near The Monument and Pudding Lane.

Another 5mins or so and we find ourselves down on the Thames.
Fascinating watching the treasure hunters doing their thing in the mud.
Dressed for the occasion, I wonder if they ever find anything.

We walked around the perimeter of the Tower of London ( James will return another day to explore inside) and the across the Tower Bridge.

It was decided we might while away a few hours at the Imperial war Museum, so promptly jumped on a bus to Elephant and Castle and walked the rest.

It is a fascinating and overwhelming museum and I am happy to have seen it.
I know Stuart and James found it very interesting.

Getting on in the afternoon now and hoping the workers are nearly done, so we make our way back home.

Last minute organisation and we heading out to Heathrow for our flight to Düsseldorf this evening.

Tinas family have graciously invited us to stay this week so we can all meet in  person properly.

We are all very excited for this adventure

The flight to Düsseldorf is 55mins!!!

Picked up by Tinas dad for a half hour drive to Korschenbroich, to their beautiful home .

Warmly greeted by Tinas mum and Carlo, their cute rescue dog.

Albeit late, we had a lovely evening with soup, meats and cheese and of course, German beer that is brewed close by and has been since 1266.

We will need to be up early for the trip to the bakery in the morning.

  1. Another great day in London. That's another museum on my list to visit when I return to the UK, maybe next year! 😁🤞🤞
