Today i thought I would literally just sign off from the blog and recap and reflect.

It’s a travel day (or two) and we know i’m not a big fan of those.

Anyhoo, we started early, escorting James to Liverpool st Station to begin his epic journey home.
More about that when we’re home but he is coming home a little earlier than planned.

We will follow somewhat later today.

Checked in with Harry and Tina.
Tina was catching up with a friend for coffee this morning and Harry has one last little adventure for us.

We caught our 26 bus down to the main financial district.
Bank of England ( only 300 years old), the Stock Exchange and London’s Magistrates Court.

We had a great breakfast before heading into theBarbican.

These ruins just outside the cafe. A church against the wall of London, built of course on a roman wall…

I had no idea what this was, the Barbican that is but oh my, I feel I have landed in a parallel universe.

This is essentially a city within the city of London.
Home to over 4000 residents and with about 2000 flats.
There is a school, cinema/ theatre, a church, a library, a conservatory and an artificial lake ( huge).

Essentially this was a site almost completely razed during the blitz of WW2.
The site was designed in the  1950’s, built in the 60’s and finished in the 70’s.

I had no idea it was here and I am completely overwhelmed.

Headed home via Finsbury circus and a last catch up with the two of them before we head off to the airport.

This trip has been extraordinary.
So many amazing adventures all joined back to back and each one so different.

Revisiting Rome and the colosseum was fantastic and the trip to Cortina, well, we couldn't have been blessed with better weather and snow.

Norway was amazing and left us speechless everyday.

And lastly Germany.
Meeting Tinas family was wonderful and living with a German family was just an exceptionally special experience.

Finally we loved  every minute we got to spend with Harry and Tina and share and enjoy their London, but to have all of us together( including our James) in Germany was something else.

So now I think I can sign off.
It’s Sunday night here in London and we will be on home soil on Tuesday morning.
