Well, firstly apologies dear readers for the delayed post.

Our Day 3 of Norway in a Nutshell was a biggie, not that we did much more than sit on trains but what we were seeing was completely overwhelming in its beauty.

Firstly leaving Fråm about 9am for the hour long journey.
This is an old style electric train on a track completed in 1940 after over 20 years of building.

They were many tunnels and the railway is incredibly steep. The views out the window are crazy.

These two photos, you can where the track is and the train is headed.

We had a stop near the top at The Kjosfossen waterfall.
You could see where the water had been falling and was now simply ice.

Once we arrived in Myrdal, it was a 10 or so minute wait for our train to arrive to take us to Oslo.
There was ice and snow all over the platform and it was really cold, so grateful when  the train arrived.

It was about a five hour journey to Oslo and I truly thought there maybe a nap involved but Mother Nature had different ideas, it was impossible to stop staring out the windows.

Again the scenery was simply breathtaking, again so much snow. Huge fields covered in snow, lakes just simply ice.
Loads of little villages with snowed in cabins and a couple of bigger towns to mix it up.

I’ll let the pictures do the talking:

We arrived in Oslo about three and all of a sudden we were immersed in a large and bustling city.

Easy walk to where we are staying.
As luck would have it (not) there is a Disney on Ice show this weekend and our Hotel has a super deal for mothers and their princesses.
So many princesses.

Anyhoo back on track…
Some months ago, i asked my in laws to visit the Munch Museum on my behalf as they were in Oslo.
Although, I knew we would also be in Oslo at a later date but our time there would be limited.

As it turns out, today is Friday and the museum is open late, so we get to see his artworks for ourselves.

The museum is down on the harbour, so it was beautiful to be wandering around down there as the sun sets.

Well, that is Norway in Nutshell and concludes a truly brilliant three or so weeks we have had here.

What an incredibly beautiful country, particularly in Winter.
For dinner we celebrated with Norway national/ favourite dish, Pizza
Back to our Hotel for an early night as we have a super early flight back to London in the morning.
