A funny morning, with mixed emotions.
This has been a fabulous trip and it was so long in the planning, and now it’s our last morning.

I think we both feel its time to leave the boat but only because we have more adventures on which to embark.

As we reflected last night over dinner, we initially thought that perhaps you could just do it one way but then really if you did you would miss a lot as you come south.
So many lovely places that we slept through on the way North, that you have the opportunity to see once you’re going South.
Trondheim is a classic example, too sick first time round and then the opportunity as we were coming south, albeit a tad early.

We had to be up and out fairly early today despite us not being expected to arrive in Bergen until 2.45pm.

So it was a day to really just sit and take it all in as it passes by.
The landscape is changing, way less snow except in the distance.
Lots of trees and just that bit warmer ( well at least it isn’t negative but single digits!)

We had our last expedition meeting.
The crew have been fabulous, entertaining and knowledgable.
They threw a bunch of stats at us which was quite interesting.
This was a ship full of boomers and apparently we use far less water ( in showers) than young folk.

Ship cruises at a relatively cruisy 14-15 knots and this speed she uses 900 litres of marine diesel per hour, increase to 18knots and double it.

In 11 days 140 kg of sugar, 5000 eggs and 500 loaves of bread consumed.
Baring in mind the number of passengers was about 150!!!

There is a crew of  65 and they work a swing of 22 days on ( 2 trips) and 22 days off.
When they’re on tho they are on.

Slowly but we surely we are edging our way towards Bergen, pretty obvious with the high density living that we start to see.

Arriving in port a touch early at 2.30pm.
All pretty schmick, reunited with our packs and quickly onto buses that will take us to our hotel for the night.

Check in and off load, back down to the Bryggen mere minutes away for a celebratory beer at an Irish pub called O’Connors.

The sky is blue!!!!

We are searching for fish and chips for dinner, will let you know.
