Happy 90th Birthday Joan Green, Stuart’s mum.🥂
The mornings are getting just that bit colder and everyone just that little bit more tired so it’s a little bit later when we head to breakfast.
Harry has big plans today to head completely over the other side of the mountains as it’s a beautiful day and we’re nearly at the end of the trip.
I had thought we could meet up for Sunday lunch today but where they’re going a bit too far for me without skis.
So they make their plans and head off, Stuart will be able to elaborate on their adventure.
I headed into Cortina village for a bit of a look around and perhaps purchase a few souvenirs.
Cortina is one of the hosts of the Winter Olympics next year, so there is a lot of building and activity.
It’s really cold and windy down here in the village, I’m not quite wearing enough layers and my toes are numb.
Had a lunch in a nice little cafe and as always it was full of Italian families by the time I left.
Delicious gnocchi was my choice, beautifully rich and warming.
Harry,Tina and Stuart headed out of Cortina to Alta Badia by taxi as it’s been a bit of a late start and the 1030 bus that heads up there doesn’t seem to exist today.
The big incentive of heading up to Alta Badia is the opportunity for a 12 km run.
To be able to ski a run of that length in one hit is pretty exciting.
This run ended with horse driven sleigh dragging a dozen or so skiers to the next lift.
A few more runs here in Alta Badia but we were all getting pretty tired and headed back to our favourite run at Olympia and made our way back to the hotel and ready for the afternoon lectures of course. ( remember, we’re here for the education after all )
Another lovely dinner and night cap in our living room and it was time for bed.
Brilliant photos folks. Gorgeous weather.
