Alrighty, waking to -7c this morning was a bit of challenge but inside our little space it is pretty warm.
Harry is concerned that he buggered his right knee in an incident yesterday, so we’ve dosed him up with Brufen to stop the inflammation hopefully.
It’s a superb day, the sun is bright, the ski is clear and despite being so cold the team are keen to get on the slopes.
Back from breakfast and they’re gone.
I’m handing the writing over to Stuart now the most exciting thing I did today was doing a workout 🏋️
So today was a guided tour “sella Ronda”, we didn’t book as we were unsure if Stuart’s dated skills and stamina would be sufficient for a roughly 70km day.
Harry decided that we could do it, or the “Grande Guerra” anyway: so off we set.
All this happens in an adjacent valley at Alta Badia ski field. A couple of chair lifts, a gondola ride and we are near. It is bitterly cold and wind is howling, This of course complicates the skiing, icy conditions with snow drifts. Eventually make it toCol Galina… the next run to take us to the horse drawn lift (what a novelty) is closed for training and there appears no other way there.
We had our own (little) tour. Lunchtime at a hut in Tafoma and then back to Cortina for a few runs, though conditions continue to deteriorate despite the sun remaining visible.

Can’t see it well but that says -6C

Tonight has been a bit of a highlight for me, perhaps not for the skiers who have highlights every day.
We were picked up at the hotel and taken to the Freccia Nel Cielo cable car that will take us up to Tafona and the Col Druscie restaurant and wine bar.
The trip in the cable car was literally for the 50 or so of us from the conference. So it was very special.
On arrival we were greeted by drinkies and nibbles on the deck, a lovely fire keeping the Glühwein nice and warm.
The views from here are truly beautiful, looking over the Cortina at night and also the Tafona observatory.
We are then shuffled into the restaurant for a fabulous meal, lots of lovely Red, wonderful conversation as we get to know our colleagues and finished with some truly awful Grappa.
Home on the cable car and bus and then bed ( @ 1230 ) absolutely exhausted but happy.
Stuart, brilliant photos! What a day you had. So happy for you all
